Railway Operations

Consolidating our comprehensive vision in the management of logistic solutions, we have formed a Consortium together with Cointer Concesiones (Grupo Azvi) from Spain, and Deutsche Bahn International Operations from Germany, for the Railway Operation of the Finnish forestry group UPM between its second plant in Uruguay, in the center of the country, and the Port of Montevideo.

Following the renovation of the track, the Consortium will provide the highest quality Railway Operation services, complying with the most demanding environmental and safety standards.

The contract, which has been signed for a period of 25 years, not only includes operations but also the custom design and maintenance of the special freight wagons and locomotives that meet the most modern environmental standards. Each year, around two million tons of cellulose pulp will be transported.
